Outré one man band out of Rouen, France. Reminds me of the garage punk duo Magic Trash or a bare bones Jon Spencer Blues Explosion totally stripped down to the studs and propped up with an odd thud techno beat. Howling blues vocals with an Iggy-style drawl, only the slightest accent sung to English lyrics and simple fuzzed out garage guitar and thud of a drum to get it down. Pretty two-dimensional stuff, but it’s got some swagger. Side A’s “War Machine” is probably the best song on here, catchy three chords progression, with flat mod-style female vocals intoning “he’s a war machine” over his grated howl; it’s odd and charming. Not to mention “Sorry Mr. Neighborhood” on side B, ‘cause he just wants to get sloppy and rock out all night. Sorry to keep you up Mr Neighborhood but you know, not really and fuck off. I was kind of into it at that point, but then Side B’s “Rock’n’Roll” chorus is downright irritating. But hey, they are worse things than ending on a flat not. It’s a sign right? Go home kids, party’s over.
